Is it illegal to use a photo of a local restaurant as a profile picture of a Facebook group?
I made a Facebook group for a local restaurant in my town and I took a picture of the panel of outside the restaurant. Is it legal to use this photo as my profile picture on Facebook or group have to leave the restaurant? I took a picture of the signal under the logo. It's one of those white signs with black letters that can be drawn to new things can be written. The restaurant's name not in the picture. I basically took a picture of part of the property.
Yes it is if you do not have permission and knowledge and use his name and image. If for some reason, I must say that his name and image have been damaged, and have lost the reputation and business or because of their computer screen in a public web site - That may have legal grounds to sue. Always ask permission first before using a name, image, logo - and you too could be in violation of copyright.
