The emulsion is simply poured into a scoopcoater then dragged across the screen, creating a barrier almost as thick as a few sheets of paper. When the coating dries, it is ready for submission.
Then a film is made with the desired image. The film has of two parts, the light blocking part and the transparent part. The movie is exactly like the final print will look, except it is black and clear.
The film acts as a barrier to light exposure the emulsion with light. Because the emulsion is sensitive to light and becomes more resistant when exposed to water. After exposure, the screen cleared, and the unexposed parts washing. The image of the film becomes the pattern on the screen, allowing the ink to pass only when the image is.
