What are the effects of a vinyl "wrap" on a car's paint job?
I have original paint, nothing after-market
Nothing really? my uncle owns a shop that does that kinda stuff, it just peels right off afterward. Sometimes it leaves a little adhesive behind, but that comes off with a little washing, so nothing big. I've never seen it peel off paint or anything, unless a company is using a really cheap vinyl with a strong adhesive, it shouldn't damage the paint. We did a wrap on a Accord once, took it off to change it a couple years after and the car looked brand new underneath, no paint damage, and only a couple spots where it had a little adhesive, but that came off in 5 mins.The only negative is for people that don't get a full wrap and keep it for long, because having a vinyl on top of paint prevents that area of paint from fading from sun exposure, so when you peel it off, it looks new, while areas around it that weren't covered, are slightly faded, and usually its noticeable after 6 months of using a vinyl and living in a area where there's a lot of sun.
